Magical Matthew has won Book of the Year Award

I'm very excited that my first book, "Magical Matthew," won the 2013 Book of the Year Award from Creative Child Awards Program (moms and educators), in the Positive Behavior Learning Books for Kids Award Category! This is such an honor for the first book in my Magical Series!

The Award Stickers are on their way!

I hope Mea isn't jealous that her older brother was honored!

Magical Mea: Now Available

Mea is a trickster. She’s the little sister of Magical Matthew. Mea found her magic power about the same time Matt lost his. Big brother Matthew wants to mentor Mea. He’ll show her how to use her magic for good, like he did. But the more Matt tries to guide Mea, the more she wants to "do it her way.” Matthew is worried Mea might get into trouble.

Mea wants to put her magic to the test. What can she do? What might happen to a little girl on the loose with magic powers? Can anyone get Mea to listen to reason?

Teachers and parents can use this book to show how doing good is more rewarding than getting attention for negative actions.

Magical Matthew

My first book, Magical Matthew, illustrated by Kevin Scott Collier, was published by Guardian Angel Publishing in October 2012! This book was inspired by my friend's son, Matthew, when he attained "double digits." That milestone marked the transition that all children make from being an elementary "kid," to a middle school "tween." There's the loss of innocence that we mourn, but also a growing maturity that we applaud. y book celebrates the "magic" of that transition.

I am pleased Kevin Scott Collier illustrated Magical Matthew. Kevin is a delight to work with and does amazing illustrations making the story come alive in a "magical" way.

This book is suitable for children ages 4 through 9.
